Molly is Morgan-cross, bay mare, about 9 years old, and stands approximately 15 hands. In the winter of January 2019, Molly came to Alaska Equine Rescue, riddled with lice and scoring a Henneke of 2, after she was relinquished along with two other horses, from a cruelty case in Wasilla. She and her herd mates had been within eyesight of two other horses that were dead on the property. It was clear to us that Molly was defensive and scared, and hadn't received much handling. It was assumed that the handling she did get may not have been positive.
Molly was adopted in the summer of 2019, but sadly, her new owner had personal issues that would not allow her to keep her. Today, Molly has a sweet and friendly disposition. She is easy to catch and halter and joins up easily with her partner, even off lead. Molly still has trust issues with her feet and will require an experienced owner or trainer who is knowledgeable in handling horses that have fear issues and are sensitive. She is not broke to ride, but was evaluated by Lori Hackenberger In January 2020, who felt that with time and training, Molly would be a nice horse. For more information, call Gary at 351-7658.
